1. Do I have to buy a ticket for my spouse too?

Yes.  Sorry, but we need a head count. We did everything we could to keep the price down, but we do have to pay the caterer. Speaking of caterer, do you know that we have the world famous (and award winning) Mike Roberts catering for the event?  Now that you know, you should probably buy a ticket for you, and your spouse and bring your sister and her husband as well (as long as they have tickets).

2. What is the West High Commons area?

There’s been a few changes to Dear Old West since you’ve been gone.  The commons area is an open area where the auditorium used to be.  Come, join us for the reunion tour and I think you’ll be impressed with some of the other changes too.

3. Do I have to go on the school tour?

No, you don’t.  We just thought you might like to see some of the changes that have been made since we left in 1977.  When Jamie (Johnsen) returned to the school, despite all the changes, she still found her old locker!  So, if you don’t want to see all the changes, you can come on the tour and find the things that haven’t changed!

4. What if I can’t afford the ticket price, but I still want to come?

Were sorry that you are suffering such hard times. We would still like to see you! We have a few tickets that are available to those who can’t afford the cost.  Please call or email Bob Price and he will arrange for you to get a ticket.  You can reach Bob by going to the reunion committee tab and emailing him from there.

5. Can I bring my mom?

Yes, you may.  But, remember that both Russell Walker and Stephen Lemperle will be there.  That might be too much for poor old mom to handle.  (Just sayin’).

6. Did Leita really organize this reunion all the way from Arizona?

Yes she did. Leita is pretty amazing.  Even though Leita lives in Arizona, she still has a Utah phone number.  Without that phone number, we don’t think she could have done it!

7. Can I post then and now pictures even if I can’t come to the reunion?

Yes.  Please do.  We would love to see who has aged the most gracefully.  Though we have to admit most of you have aged better than Brent Grimm.  Actually, even if you haven’t aged gracefully we would still love to see your pictures.

8. Can I buy a ticket at the door?

Yes, you may.  But it will cost you more.  We really want to get a good head count to the caterer.  If you can, purchase your tickets a day or two before.  That should help us estimate how much food we will need.   BUT, if you haven’t purchased a ticket and want to come, we still want to see you and you can pay at the door.

9. Is Bob Price really as cool as he thinks he is?

Bob is pretty cool.  But, come on, could anyone be as cool as Bob thinks Bob is!  Actually, yes, yes, Bob is that cool.

10. What is the memorabilia that you are offering on this website?

The West High Alumni Association has t-shirts, hats, and other things that they sell. None of the proceeds go to the reunion but go to the West High Alumni Association.  The Association has been helpful with the reunion committee and we thank them.  If you want a West High hat (or shirt) you should buy one!  You could even wear it to the reunion.

11. One of my friends graduated in the class of 1977 and I wanted to be sure he/she got an invitation.  Do you want me to send you his/her contact information?

Yes. Yes. Yes.  In fact, don’t assume that any of your contacts know about the reunion.  You can send them the link to the site or you can contact us and we will try to get a hold of them.  If you only know their phone number, let us know and someone will give them a call.

12. How do I send you a classmate’s contact information?

You may click on the contact us link on this website or you could go to reunion committee and find someone who you know, click on his/her email address and send it to that specific person.

13. Why don’t I see my then and now pictures on the website?  I posted them, but they are not there.

The webmaster has to approve each person’s pictures before they go “live” on the site.  The webmaster will approve the pictures within 24 hours.  If your pictures aren’t approved within 24 hours, send us a reminder by way of the “Contact Us” page.

14. How come Leita’s old picture is sideways?

For 40 years, Leita has been really conscientious about how long her face was in high school. Even though we thought she looked just fine, Leita insisted that she looked better on her side.  If we have time at the reunion, we will vote on whether she should leave it sideways or turn it right side up.

15. Why do I have to pay more if I don’t buy my tickets early?

We really want to get a good head count to the caterer.  If you can, purchase your tickets before August 20th.  Even if you purchase your tickets a day or two before.  That should help us estimate how much food we will need.   BUT, if you haven’t purchased a ticket and want to come, we still want to see you and you can pay at the door.

16. What are the donations for?

Reunions are expensive.  Some classmates on the committee have put up some of their own money.  We are hoping to get donations from kind hearted individuals to help with the cost.  If you know of a business that wants to donate, contact us and we will put the business name and ad on the sponsors’ page.

17. Why is there a tour of the school?

A lot of things have changed at West since 1977.  We thought that some of you may want to see the new gym, the new commons area, and other things that have changed.  (The foregoing is the politically correct answer, in reality, Connie insisted on the tour so she could spend more time with classmates.)
